The Department of Immunology of the SBMU School of Medicine officially become independent and separated from the Department of Microbiology. Following being capable of benefiting from the cooperation of its full time academic staff, it began admitting students at graduate level in MSC in Immunology. Presently, there are 10 students being annually admitted at that level. There are two labs, a research lab, and an educational one. The educational lab, located at the Ground Floor of the SBMU School of Medicine, the students of PhD general in medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy work on their immunology lab courses offered to them. In the Research Lab, located on the 7th Floor of the SBMU School of Medicine, the students at various graduate levels, work on their proposals and dissertations under the supervision of the department’s academic staff. The Department Chair and the staff have their offices at this same floor. In the near future, the Department is going to admit students at PhD levels in Immunology so it can have more major roles in training and promoting academic staff in immunology at the national level for the universities.
The Department of Immunology Research Lines
The Department of Immunology of the SBMU School of Medicine seeks to pursue the following research lines:
Immunopathology, immunotherapy, humeral immunity, cell immunity, cytokines, antigens, and medical lab diagnoses;
Tumors, including immunopathology, immunotherapy, antigens, medical lab diagnoses, and escaping mechanisms;
Transplantations, including immunopathology, genetics, immunotherapy, cell immunity, cytokines, medical lab diagnoses;
Cell therapy, Dendritic cell, Stem cells, exosomes
Infections, including antigens, genetics, and medical lab diagnoses;
Allergies and increasing sensitivity, including immunopathology, immunotherapy, genetics, humeral immunity, cell immunity, cytokines, and antigens;
Autoimmunity diseases, including antigens, immunopathology, immunotherapy, humeral immunity, cell immunity, cytokines, and medical lab diagnoses;
Reproduction, including genetics, immunotherapy, and medical lab diagnoses;
Vaccines, including antigens, and immunotherapy;
Nutrition, including herbal essences;
